Our Trip to Dublin
On the 22nd of March 6th class made the long journey to Dublin. We were invited by Alan Dillon T. D to visit Dáil Éireann and we were so excited.
When we got there, Alan Dillon was waiting for us with a big welcome. We were taken on a tour of the Dáil and the Seanad. We had learned lots about democracy in school so it was wonderful to see where all the action happens in Ireland . We even got to see An Taoiseach debating.
After our visit we were lucky enough to get to visit Trinity College and St. Stephen’s Green Park, both of which were amazing.
We couldn’t leave Dublin without paying a visit to the Archeology Museum of Ireland. Mary, a class member had a special connection with the museum. Mary’s family found a spear head and had given it to the museum. Stephen and the gang met us there and told us so much more about the find! The museum itself was amazing and we were so lucky because we had Mr. Keane with us….who gave us our very own personalised tour!
We set off from Dublin and stopped off for some delicious food and a few sweets!!
Huge thanks to Alan Dillon for inviting us, to Ms. McDonagh for trusting us to make the journey, to Tommy the bus driver for getting us there and back and to Mr. Keane for coming with us and sharing his knowledge of archeology with us. Also well done to the 22 amazing children we brought with us. They were a credit to Bekan N.S and to their parents.
It was a day we’ll never forget!
